Our Mission
Most face shape quizzes ask you to look in the mirror and pick a shape from a few drawings. That is hard, because nobody sees their own face objectively. We built DetectFaceShape.ai to replace guesswork with measurement, and to pair every result with practical, honest style advice.
How We Build and Test the Tool
- Proven face mapping. The detector uses Google’s open-source MediaPipe Face Landmarker, a well-studied model that places 478 landmarks on the face.
- Clear, explainable rules. We turn those landmarks into the same ratios stylists use, such as length-to-width and jaw-to-cheek width, and we show you the measurements.
- An optional AI second opinion. The AI precision check asks a vision AI model to review the outline of your face. Both results are blended for a steadier answer.
- Ongoing testing. We test the tool on a range of photos and lighting conditions, and we adjust it when we find cases that confuse it.
Our Editorial Standards
Our face shape guides are written in plain English and reviewed before they go live. We base our advice on widely accepted styling principles: balance, contrast and proportion. We avoid miracle claims, and we tell you when a rule is a guideline rather than a fact.

What Our Tool Can and Cannot Do
Face shape is a styling tool, not a medical or scientific diagnosis. Results depend on photo quality, and borderline faces can reasonably be described in more than one way. That is why we show a confidence score and a score for every shape, and why we encourage you to read the guides for your top two matches.
Privacy Comes First
